Do you love romances that transport you into the world of fairy-tale glamour and emotion? Then we have the perfect pitch opportunity for you!
At Harlequin Romance we publish 50,000 word contemporary, category romances featuring billionaires with heart (be they gorgeous CEOs, royalty or racing drivers!) and their real and relatable love interests. These trope-driven romances whisk readers away into a world of wealth and glamour as our protagonists take them on an emotional rollercoaster and an irresistible romantic escape (check out our guidelines here: https://harlequin.submittable.com/submit).
What Are We Looking For?
A short paragraph about yourself (100 words max) and a 500-word pitch (one per author, please) based on a unique interpretation of one of the following three romance scenarios (pitches outside of these parameters will not be considered):
- A destination wedding in the Mediterranean setting, featuring a fake relationship and a Greek billionaire.
- A workplace romance set in New York, featuring a billionaire and the enemies to lover’s trope.
- A Royal romance set in a fictional Mediterranean kingdom, focusing on a reunion between a now King and the Cinderella from his past.
Your pitch should entice us with your characters, plot, emotional conflict and romantic journey, as well as gorgeous setting and commercial hooks. Give us your story in a nutshell and entice us to want more! Don’t worry about spoiler alerts, we want to know how it ends (and with an HEA, of course!)

When Do We Need It?
We are open to take pitches via our BILLIONAIRES WANTED! inbox on Harlequin’s Submittable page on April 10th, 2025, from 12:00am to 11:59pm ET.
What Happens Next?
By Thursday 17th April: Editors will review all pitches and respond letting you know whether you will be invited to submit more material on your pitched idea – a 1–2-page synopsis of the story and the first chapter.
By Friday 30th May: Deadline for requested further material to be submitted via Submittable.
By Friday 18th July: Editors will review the requested full synopses and first chapters and will send a response on each story to either, request further chapters, a full manuscript, request revisions or reject.
Helpful Tips:
- Formatting – we’re just looking for something that’s easy to read. If you’re not sure, go with 12-point Times New Roman, double spaced. But don’t worry about getting it “right”—we just need to be able to read your pitch, or further material if requested.
- Please do not submit pitches or further material that has already been rejected or is currently under consideration with any Harlequin line.
