Are you dreaming of starting your career as a published romance writer? Don’t miss this chance!
We’re excited to begin accepting story submissions by debut romance writers in underrepresented communities for the Romance Includes You Mentorship. The deadline is May 31, 2024, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time.
We announced this call for submissions in February and it’s now open. To find out what’s required before you enter, be sure to read the original announcement, submission requirements, FAQs and contest rules.
Key details:
- We’re seeking unpublished romance stories by debut authors that could be published in one of Harlequin’s series romance lines.
- We are interested in submissions by authors in underrepresented communities, including, but not limited to, people who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color, biracial and multiracial, members of 2SLGBTQ+ communities, marginalized ethnic and religious cultures, and people living with disabilities and neurodiversity.
- The writer of the top submission will be offered a publishing contract, a one-year mentorship with a Harlequin editor to complete their story for publication and a writing grant to support their early writing career. The total value is $5,000 US.
- You must be an unpublished or self-published author and live in Canada (excluding Quebec) or the U.S. to be eligible.
- To enter, go to Harlequin.Submittable.com and upload your submission to the “Romance Includes You Mentorship” inbox.
Through the mentorship, Harlequin is reaching out to the writing community to find new voices in romantic fiction and publish more diverse and inclusive romance stories. If you feel you have what it takes to be a romance novelist, what are you waiting for?
We can’t wait to read your romance stories!
