Offering writing advice is one thing, but everyone knows that putting it into practice is a whole different ballgame. So, we are so excited to introduce our new #WritingChallenge feature on SOLD!
Creating convincing, interesting and powerful emotional motivations is the key to writing a successful romance. We know a lot of you will currently be working on full manuscripts, where you’re mainly focusing on your hero and heroine’s motivations. But we really believe that practice makes perfect – the more conflicts/ behaviors/ scenarios you have to motivate, the easier it gets to see what works and what could be stronger.
So, every two weeks, we’ll be providing you with a different scenario – heart-wrenching, challenging, dramatic…you name it, we’re brainstorming it 🙂 – and we’re going to ask you to motivate them. It might be totally out of your comfort zone, or a scenario you would never want to write yourself…but that is the whole point. This is your chance to put all your wonderful imaginations to the test on a regular basis, have some fun, as well as giving you the chance to get direct feedback from the SOLD editors on your ideas.
So without further ado, our first #WritingChallenge!
Your hero has just walked out on the heroine, on the morning of their wedding day. Why?
For editorial feedback and advice, share your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas below… we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
